The dangerous goods label Class 8 “Corrosive Substances” is used for the compliant marking of packages and shipments that contain corrosive hazardous substances. The marking is required according to international dangerous goods regulations such as ADR, RID, IMDG and IATA and ensures clear and immediately recognizable hazard communication during transport and storage.

Layout
The label has a white background in the upper half with the black symbol of liquids being poured from two test tubes that attack a hand and metal, while the lower half is black.
In the lower corner is the number “8”, complemented by the text imprint “CORROSIVE”.
Class Description – Dangerous Goods Class 8
Corrosive substances of dangerous goods class 8 are chemical substances with a strong corrosive effect that can severely burn or destroy skin, eyes or mucous membranes upon contact.
In addition to these directly corrosive chemicals, the class also includes substances that form corrosive liquids, vapors or mists when combined with water or when exposed to air humidity.
Typical substances of this class include:
Potassium hydroxide (caustic potash), mercury, battery acid (sulfuric acid), soldering fluid, epoxy resin hardener
Reduction of Dimensions
If the size of the package requires it, the minimum dimensions may be reduced to 50 mm x 50 mm.
