Class Description – Hazard Class 4
Hazard class 4.3 includes substances that release flammable gases (mostly hydrogen) when in contact with water. These gases can ignite spontaneously or form explosive mixtures with air. Even small amounts of water – including humidity – can trigger dangerous reactions.

Sodium, Potassium, Calcium carbide (CaC₂), Lithium, Aluminum phosphide (produces phosphine gas), Zinc powder
