Class 3 - Flammable Liquid

Hazard labels of Class 3 serve to clearly identify flammable liquids, which pose significant fire and explosion hazards in transport and storage. These substances can form flammable vapors even at relatively low temperatures and must therefore be clearly marked in accordance with ADR, RID, IMDG and IATA.

The Dangerous Goods Class 3 includes:
Liquids and liquid mixtures with a flash point ≤ 60 °C
Substances that are liquid at 20 °C and have a vapor pressure ≤ 3 bar at 50 °C
Also molten solid substances with a flash point > 60 °C when transported above their flash point
Examples include gasoline, ethanol, diesel, acetone, solvents, paints and many other industrial liquids.

This signaling effect ensures immediate recognition – even from a distance – and enables emergency services, transport and storage personnel to take the correct measures in case of an emergency.

Packaging Groups (I, II, III) – Depending on the level of hazard
Although Class 3 has no subclasses, substances are divided into packaging groups according to their hazard level:
Packaging Group I: Highly hazardous
Packaging Group II: Moderately hazardous
Packaging Group III: Less hazardous
This classification is based on flash point and initial boiling point.

Our Class 3 hazardous goods labels – robust, compliant with standards and reliable – specially developed for professional use.
